How to Use an Acupressure Mat: A Beginner's Guide

Start With a Layer Between You and the Mat

Lie on top of a thin t-shirt for your first few sessions rather than bare skin. As you build tolerance over time, you can move to direct contact if you want a stronger sensation.

Start Small — 5 to 10 Minutes Is Plenty

You don't need to lie there for an hour. Start with 5-10 minutes and see how your body responds before working up to longer sessions.

Breathe and Let Your Weight Settle

The first minute or two is usually the most intense — that's normal. Slow, steady breathing helps your body relax into it rather than tense against it.

Good Times to Use It

  • Winding down before bed
  • After a long day on your feet or at a desk
  • Before or after a workout, for a few minutes of dedicated downtime

Our Acupressure Mat & Pillow Set is hand wash only — lukewarm water, hang to dry.

Acupressure mats aren't suitable for everyone — check with a doctor first if you're pregnant, have a skin condition, or aren't sure it's right for you.
